This site contains information related to having a Filipina Fiance/Asawa, Argao, Cebu, travels to and from the UK and Cebu in the Philippines. My aim is only to pass on some experiences and to better inform others of life in Argao, please visit my Links page for other websites which may help you.
Some details about my trips to the Philippines from December 2000 onwards. You will find very little tourist or diving information here as this is better detailed on other sites but I did visit some of the more conventional tourist sites including:
Fort San Pedro, Taoist Temple, Cebu Cathedral, Lapu Lapu, Dr Jose Rizal Monument, Magellan's Cross, Mactan Bridge, Basillica of Sto Nino, The Tops, RiverStone Castle Argao and of course I did some scuba diving.
Bird Watching - I will give a special mention to the DENR reforestation area in Mag-alambak. About an hours ride south into Dalaguete, and then turning right, uphill towards Mantalongon and the mountains on a steep, winding, bumpy road. The scenery is beautiful, the ride is very rough You might be lucky enough to spot some of these birds. Tabon Scrubfowl, Barred Rail, Philippine Bulbul, Re-Keeled Flowerpecker, Elegant Tit, Everett's White-Eye, Philippine Scops Owl.

The Philippines consists of about 7,200 islands (at low tide) but most Filipino's live on just 11 islands. Two presidents of the Philippines have been forced from office by "people power" in the space of 15 years. A separatist conflict on Mindanao, in the southern Philippines, has claimed more than 100,000 lives in three decades and Muslim separatists, the Abu Sayyaf group on Jolo, have a history of violence towards hostages. Christianity has a strong foot hold here but so does the two stroke tricycle.
